Today Elon University released the men's basketball Colonial Athletic Association schedule for the 2014-2015 season.

This marks Elon's first year in the CAA, which is widely regarded as one of the top mid-major conferences in college basketball. Elon will kick off its conference schedule in Philadelphia on Jan. 3 at Drexel and will play its first home CAA game on Jan. 8 against William and Mary.

Other key contests on Elon's slate include home games against former SoCon foe College of Charleston on Jan. 14 and defending CAA champion Delaware on Jan. 24.

The Phoenix close out the regular season at Alumni Gym against UNCW on Feb. 28 before heading up to Baltimore for the CAA Tournament on March 6-9.

Elon is coming off a season in which it finished 18-14 (11-5 Southern Conference) and was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the SoCon Tournament by Western Carolina. The Phoenix graduated five seniors, including Jack Isenbarger, Lucas Troutman, Ryley Beaumont and Sebastian Koch, all of who finished their careers with over 1,000 points. The team returns a trio of guards, Austin Hamilton, Kevin Blake, and Tanner Samson who played in all 32 of Elon's games last season and welcomes a five-member freshman class.

Elon has not released its full schedule, but other known games include contests at Missouri on Dec. 11, at Duke on Dec. 15, at UNCG on Dec. 20 and home games against Florida Atlantic and Charlotte with the dates to be announced.

The Phoenix will also take part in the Cancun Challenge, with games at Northwestern on Nov. 22 and versus Morgan State in Cancun, Mexico on Nov. 25. Additional games in the tournament are against Liberty or North Florida in Cancun on Nov. 26 and at Miami (Ohio) on Nov. 30.
