A storied career for Elon University's Cameron Silverman came to an end Wednesday when the senior lost in the first round of the NCAA Singles Championship.

Silverman, ranked No. 36 in the country, lost 6-7, 6-1, 7-6 to No. 51 Florent Diep of the University of Florida. The match was played at the University of Georgia, where Diep will take on Virginia Tech's Amerigo Contini on Thursday.

Silverman ends his career with the second most wins in Elon history (62). He was named Southern Conference Player of the Year in both his junior and senior seasons, leading the Phoenix to SoCon regular season titles in each of the last three years and a SoCon Tournament title this year.
