Elon University freshman Jenifer Rhodes was named Southern Conference Freshman of the Year as voted on by the coaches, the league announced March 5.

Rhodes averaged 9.7 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game while being named CRONS Freshman of the Week three times throughout the course of the year. She also was named to the SoCon All-Freshman Team, both for the media and the coaches.

Elon senior Kelsey Harris was named to the coaches' All-SoCon Team and earned Second Team All-SoCon honors from the media. She averaged 12.2 points per game for the Phoenix, which will be the No. 4 seed at the SoCon Tournament this weekend.

Freshman Lauren Brown, who averaged 7.9 points for Elon, was also tabbed for the coaches' and media's All-Freshman Team.

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's Taylor Hall swept the SoCon Player of the Year awards in leading the Mocs to a perfect 18-0 record in conference play. Jackie Carson of Furman University was selected as the SoCon Coach of the Year by both the media and coaches.
