Hi!
I started an awareness blog for Elon Volunteers!'s Awareness Team last semester, and was wondering if ELN would be interested in helping us gain more publicity for it.
The purpose of the blog is to serve as a resource for those interested in active community dialogue and engagement. While the blog initially began as a tool to help promote the four awareness organizations in Elon Volunteers, Invisible Children, Amnesty International, Oxfam, and Sierra Club, it has spread beyond the programs to include other members of the Elon community.
EV! agreed to purchase a domain name, so now we are at: elonawareness.com.
Some of the recent blog posts include: a how-go guide on easy ally tips by the Gender and LGBTQIA director, Matthew Antonio Bosch, a story on why Peter Kesaris Relays for Life, two stories on being an Elon student experiencing homelessness by Rebekah Hackney, an encouraging post on failure by Michelle Kusel, a "not on my campus" reflection by Dr. Kirstin Ringelberg, a learning to be a globally-aware, active citizen guide by Elon Alumni and New York Educator Greg Halzen, and an inspirational post of increasing dialogue by Rachel Lewis.
Two students involved with the Phoenix Question campaign also contacted me asking if they could collaborate with the blog, so I added a new Phoenix Question page. I'll post the answers to the questions posed every Monday on the blog; the blog will serve as an archive of compiled responses to all of the Phoenix Question.
