Good afternoon,
My name is Emilia Sotolongo and I graduated from Elon in 2013. In 2010 an article was run about me on the Phoenix 14 blog including my photo. I understand that this is well within the rights of Phoenix 14, and am not upset about that. However, the charges were completely dropped. I didn't even get to court before the charges were dropped. It has been four years, and I am working on getting my masters degree in education. Every time I work with a group of students my stomach drops as I think about them googling me and finding the article about me that includes my mugshot.
I am simply asking if it would be possible to please take the article down, or at the very least remove the image. Please. The Phoenix 14 blog is not currently active or being updated, but when I search my name that photo and story are the first things that pop up. Before people can read about any of my positive contributions to Elon, East Carolina or the students I work with, that article is what they see. I understand you have a right to do as you please, but those charges were dropped soon after and after undergoing counseling for the other issues that led to this event, I am happy and doing well.
I love Elon, and I love my experiences that I had there. I am good at what I do, and I love working with kids. I am just asking that you take this down, or at the very least just take the mugshot down.
