A winter storm warning is in effect for Alamance County until 6 p.m. EST on Thursday. Snow will continue until 7 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, but Friday will bring a high of 41*F.

Since early afternoon Wednesday, the Elon area has seen 4 to 6 inches of snow, sleet and ice, which has been the cause of many delays and closings in the area.

Elon's Campus Dining has changed its hours for Thursday. Acorn Coffee Shop will close at 6 p.m., while the Winter Garden Cafe, Fountain Market and Colonnades and Lakeside Dining Halls will close at 8 p.m.

Belk Library and Campus Recreation will close at 8 p.m. and Moseley Center will close at 10 p.m. Thursday as well. According to an email from Smith Jackson, students should check E-Net for more updates.

The Alamance-Burlington School system has cancelled classes for Friday, Feb. 14. A makeup day schedule will be posted when dates are determined.

Many flights have been cancelled or delayed in the past few days from Charlotte Douglas International Airport and Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Those with plans to fly should check with their airline or visit the websites for RDU, GSO and CLT for details on delays and cancellations.
