“It started off with a steal,” said freshman forward Christian Hairston. “It was an open court, I’m just going to go dunk it, it’s casual."

I get it. You're humble. But there was nothing casual about the dunk that literally shook Alumni Gym to its core Monday, Nov. 4, in the Elon University men's basketball exhibition game.

GAME RECAP: Elon dominates Lynchburg

Yes, senior forward Lucas Troutman can throw it down, but this is a new look for the Elon University men's basketball team. I guess that's what happens when the program has grown as big as it has.

“I don’t care who you are, that was an impressive dunk,” said Elon head coach Matt Matheny.

Seriously, if you missed the dunk while thinking, "Oh it's an exhibition. Nothing will happen," you were almost right. Except for the fact maybe the best dunk in Elon history took place. Other than that, sophomore guard Tanner Samson shot a lot of three-pointers in senior guard Jack Isenbarger's absence and Troutman and senior forward Ryley Beaumont scored 11 points each. It was a typical exhibition with a typical exhibition final score: 100-57 Elon.

Luckily, technology is an amazing thing and caught it for your viewing pleasure over and over again.

What's the best part about all of this? Maybe it's the reaction after. Who knows. But that happened. If you can tell me that's just casual, I'm going to need to hear your reasoning. There's nothing causal about posterizing someone like that.

Watch out Southern Conference. Apparently the four seniors aren't the only players to worry about on the 2013-2014 Phoenix.
