The Elon University cross country team has announced it have added to their already busy 2013 schedule, according to head coach Christine Engel.

On Monday, Sept. 23, the Phoenix added two meets to the schedule and cut one. The two additions will be run over the weekend of October 4-5.

The first meet will be on Friday, Oct. 4 when the Phoenix travel to Boone, N.C. for the Mountaineer Open. The event is hosted by Southern Conference rivals Appalachian State. Only a select group of runners, who have yet to be determined, will run in the meet.

The Mountaineer Open is the first of two meets in Boone this season. Elon will return on Oct. 18 for the Blue Ridge Open.

The following day, another group of runners from both the men’s and women’s teams will compete in the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Ky.

With the additions of these two meets, neither the men’s and women’s teams will run in the Charlotte Cross Country Invitational. Elon was scheduled to run in the meet Saturday, Sept. 28 in Charlotte, N.C.
