At least 20 emergency response vehicles from multiple departments responded to an emergency situation at the construction site of the Danieley Center D and E apartments. Units from Town of Elon Police, Campus Safety and Police, Gibsonville Fire Department, Town of Elon Fire Department and Guilford County Emergency Services Hazmat Team responded to the site. The apartments are currently vacant as they undergo a remodel for the second half of the 2026-2027 school year.
Elon University President Connie Book, along with Queens University Acting President Jesse Cureton, announced the new official name for the merged universities: “Elon University | Queens College.” The announcement came Sept. 23 during a one-year update presentation hosted at Queens and livestreamed to Elon staff on campus. It also included a merger progress update and next steps, such as recent achievements and the accreditation process.
