A small group of students assembled on the lawn in front of Moseley Tuesday afternoon in their first steps toward establishing an Occupy Elon demonstration. The students formed an interest group following a recent First Thursdays Current Issues forum on campus, during which members of Occupy Greensboro spoke.

According to a statement on its Facebook page, the group exists to "create a space for addressing Elon issues," and "stand in solidarity with the global Occupy Movement, including collaborating with Occupy Greensboro." They plan to gather again on Thursday, Nov. 17 from 9:40-10:20 a.m. in honor of the two-month anniversary of Occupy Wall Street. During that time, the group will be gathering opinions from Elon students, faculty and staff about the potential direction of Occupy Elon.
