Title IX coordinator contextualizes increase in sexual assault reporting

Molly Zlock, Elon University’s Title IX coordinator, is responsible for overseeing the implementation of Title IX across campus. Title IX, a federal civil rights law enacted in 1972, prohibits sex-based discrimination in schools and protect students who experience sexual violence.

Elon campus police shares plans for sensitive crimes team

Elon University released the 2021 Fire and Safety Report Sept. 30. The report, required by federal law, details crime from 2020-21 on Elon’s main campus, School of Law in Greensboro and off-campus property controlled by the university. The report also provides information about other resources that support campus safety.

Alicia Wingate considers herself an artist, but her canvas is a cake. She opened her own business, Alicia’s Homemade Cakes, nine years ago, creating custom desserts for all different occasions. But she said working as a small business owner comes with its challenges, one of which is building trust.

Elon University Spring play opens April 7

This year’s spring play, The Cherry Orchard, opens April 7 in McCrary Theater. The show is based in early 20th century Russia, following a Russian aristocrat who faces the possibility of losing her family’s Cherry Orchard Estate.
