Updated as of 5:28 p.m. Sept. 26 to include location changes due to inclement weather.

Elon University is hosting its annual family weekend from Sept. 26-28. Parents, grandparents, and siblings will gather on campus for a weekend filled with events that everyone can enjoy.

For freshmen the weekend represents an important chance to reconnect with family while showing off the place they now call home, including for freshman Maddie Levis.

“I’m really excited for them to see the campus more in depth,” Levis said. “And for them to meet all my friends and just show them around.”

However, even though senior Savana Rivera’s parents aren’t coming, she said she is excited to get to know her friends' parents and have everyone together on campus for the weekend.

Elon’s Student Union Board, Department of Parent Engagement and many other campus offices will host events over the three days. In addition, there will be art performances such as ROCKapella and Instant Laughter Improv Show as well as men’s soccer and football games.

According to the National Weather Service, there will be a 90% chance of thunderstorms on Sept. 27. Due to the weather, Elon University announced that locations for some events taking place on Sept. 27 have changed.
