An email sent out to all undergraduate and graduate students by Vice President for Student Life Jon Dooley stated all classes scheduled to start after noon Feb. 19 will not meet in-person due to potential incoming weather.
For classes scheduled after noon, Dooley suggests that students check with their instructors for information on alternative class plans.
According to the National Weather Service, central North Carolina could see more than three inches of snow along with sleet and freezing rain.
Alamance-Burlington School System announced in an Instagram post the closure of schools and facilities tomorrow due to forecasted winter weather conditions. Since ABSS previously closed schools for inclement weather earlier this academic year, all extra hours built-in to the calendar have been used. According to the same Instagram post, Wednesday's closure will be made up on Feb. 28, which was previously scheduled as a teacher workday.
In addition to Elon classes scheduled to start after noon, many university offices will also close at noon. The university offices that will remain open are Campus Recreation and Wellness, Campus Safety and Police, Moseley Center, and Student Health Services.
Belk Library will close at 5 p.m. and McEwen Dining Hall, Clohan and Lakeside will all close at 8 p.m. The Elon Express shuttles will run until 1 p.m., depending on weather conditions. E-Ride services will not be available Wednesday evening.
Despite the closure of classes and university offices after noon, morning classes will still be meeting in person.
Dooley also stated that another update will be sent out to students by 6 p.m. Feb. 19.
