Town of Elon Police have arrested a Burlington man in connection with a shooting at 957 E. Haggard Ave. on Sept. 17 that left him and another man hospitalized.

Detectives arrested Carnell Williams Jr. on a charge of attempted first-degree murder. According to a media release, Williams was transported to the Alamance County Jail and is being held under a $200,000 secured bond.

The investigation is still active. 

According to initial police reports, an officer responded to the shooting just before 8 p.m. on Sept. 17 to find both men suffering gunshot wounds. Elon Police Chief Kelly Blackwelder told Elon News Network on Sept. 28 that Williams had been shot in the face and the other victim, Fredrick Michael, 55, was shot twice in the chest. As of Sept. 28, Michael is still in the hospital and in stable condition, according to Blackwelder. 

Police recovered ammunition and weapons at the scene, including a .22 caliber revolver, a 9 mm pistol and .22 caliber rifle.
