The Alamance-Burlington School System will begin its 2022-23 academic year Aug. 29, and local organizations are hosting campaigns and supply drives to collect necessary school supplies for students ahead of the new school year.

According to the Alamance Chamber, more than 25,000 school supplies were collected through the Classroom Collection Campaign for the 2021-22 academic year. The collections ensure that around 3,000 Alamance Burlington School System students have the tools and supplies — No. 2 pencils, glue sticks, backpacks, erasers, highlighters, notebooks and more — necessary to succeed throughout the school year.

Community members who are able and willing are encouraged to donate. Elon News Network has compiled a list of local supply drives.
