Hurricane Florence is a Category 2 storm heading toward the coast. Current National Hurricane Service projections show the storm making landfall around 8 a.m. Friday.
The storm will then slowly track along the Carolina coast before downgrading to a tropical storm and eventually a tropical depression.
For Elon, the majority of the rainfall is likely to come Monday morning when the storm takes a sharp turn for the northeast. Current estimates from the National Hurricane Center predict any where from 6 to 10 inches in our area.
