Senior Mollie Monett said Durant was one of her first friends at Elon.

"He always made sure everyone was included in all group events, so that no one would ever feel left out," Monett said. "He truly cared for the well-being of others, and was very loved in return."

Josh Manning '15, was a fellow computing science major who had classes with Durant.

"He was a pretty chill guy. One of the smartest kids I had classes with, always super happy and easy going," Manning said. "My first computer science classes with him, he was always so willing to help me out. [He] was always keeping in touch after I left Elon [to see] how things were."

Durant continued to maintain many friendships at Elon.

"We shared many great memories together," Monett said. "It felt like nothing changed when we would catch up. He will truly be missed."

Senior William Henderson connected with Durant through a cappella and a mutual interest in freestyle rapping.

"He was always such a nice guy, a truly genuine personality. He always had a smile on his face when i saw him," Henderson said.

Durant was a member and beat-boxer in Elon's all-male a cappella group Smooth Progressions. Garcian D'Cruz '17 is a former member of Smooth Progressions and worked together with Durant.

"He dedicated his talents to those around him and he made our group sound better. I consider it a privilege to have been able to be his brother on the stage and I am deeply saddened by his passing," D'Cruz said. "Harrison was one of us. He will always be a member of Smooth Progressions and he will always be part of that brotherhood."
