The Office of Students Activities announced on Nov. 11 that the College Street Taphouse is open for reservations, but with a few changes.

Elon University is now in charge of the bar. Organizations can reserve it for their own functions, but they must make reservations a week before the event.

The Office of Student Activities says its staff will take care of set-up, food and security.

Alcohol will be allowed for students older than 21, but Aramark will have to handle all the sales unless the event is BYOB.

That's not the only change coming to the bar, with new ownership will come a new name. Elon is asking students to vote on a new name for the space.

Choices include Puzzle's, King's, Ashes, Maroon Room and the Fire Bird, but you can also suggest your own idea.

Organizations can reserve the space Sunday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. Contact the Office of Student Activities to make reservations at (336) 278-7214. The Office of Student Activities asks students to take a survey, to vote for a new name for the space.
