To start the game it took Elon only 69 seconds to get the first touchdown. Riddle passed to senior wide receiver Terrell Hudgins for 46 yards. The next play was followed by Riddle's 19-yard touchdown run.
Elon's field goal was preceded by a 41-yard kickoff return by sophomore running back Jamal Shuman. Redshirt freshman Adam Shreiner's 41-yard field goal capped the scoring drive.
A 52-yard pass from Riddle to junior wide receiver Sean Jeffcoat followed by a 26-yard pass to Hudgins. The drive was completed with a three-yard touchdown pass from Riddle to sophomore tight end Taylor Berry.
