Milestone indication of progress in shooting game for Elon men's hoops

When asked if 2,000 career points was in range, Elon University men's basketball junior guard Jack Isenbarger shrugged. He didn't even know he was hitting 1,000 until a couple of days before the Phoenix defeated the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Thursday night in Alumni Gym. "I didn't know I was coming up to 1,000 until a couple days ago, started getting texts from friends and family, saying, 'Hey, here comes 1,000,'" Isenbarger said following the win.

Men's basketball concludes non-conference play with mixed feelings

A little up, a little down. Perhaps a good way to describe the Elon University men's basketball team. The Phoenix entered its Saturday matinee matchup with Princeton University on a two-game winning streak, but was unable to close out its non-conference slate on a good note by falling 74-64. “It hurts, because we felt like were very prepared for them and we came out and played tentative the first half,” junior guard Jack Isenbarger said.

In the Phoenix's last game before Christmas, Elon (7-5 overall, 1-1 Southern Conference) found itself down two with time winding down.

Falling short: Comeback not enough as men's basketball falls to College of Charleston

Elon University sophomore guard Austin Hamilton didn't plan on taking a 40-footer to win. Unfortunately for the Phoenix, the ball didn't plan on going in. The College of Charleston Cougars played enough defense in the waning minutes of the second half against Elon, staving off a hurried Phoenix comeback and winning their first conference game of the season 56-54 Saturday night in Alumni Gym. "How about that for a Dec.
