No. 1 Georgia Southern ahead 24-7 at halftime

The Georgia Southern Eagles were able to take advantage of two early Elon turnovers and lead the Phoenix 24-7 at halftime. Elon took a 7-0 lead after junior quarterback Thomas Wilson threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to senior tight end Taylor Berry.

Phoenix to face No. 1 Georgia Southern

Despite leading in almost every statistical category against The Citadel Sept. 24, it took everything the Elon University men's football team had to kick a 33-yard field goal in overtime and scrape by with an 18-15 win against The Citadel. Although Elon heads into this weekend's matchup against Georgia Southern University at 3-1, two of Elon's wins have come in the last drive of the game, and by a combined four points. Defensive struggle puts The Citadel up by 1

A tight defensive battle, highlighted by a long touchdown run, leaves The Citadel with a 7-6 lead over Elon after the first half. The Citadel sophomore running back Darien Robinson ran 67 yards for a score with 1:42 left in the second quarter, escaping a few tacklers and outrunning Phoenix defenders.

Elon quarterback Thomas Wilson rolls out for a pass in the Phoenix's 42-10 victory over the Concord University Mountain Lions on Saturday night. The Elon Phoenix scored 28 points in the first half and walked away with a 42-10 victory over the Concord University Mountain Lions Saturday night at Rhodes Stadium. One of their players, however, walked away with a limp. Elon quarterback Thomas Wilson went 22 of 27 with 201 yards and three touchdowns through the air before going down with a leg injury with less than a minute left in the second quarter. "I have not got an injury report yet," said Elon coach Jason Swepson, who earned his first collegiate head-coaching win with the rout.

Stauch defense, balanced offense leads Elon at half

In the first half, Elon controlled the tempo on both sides of the ball, leading a balanced attack of 201 yards through the air and 151 yards on the ground, and leads 28-7 over visiting Concord University. Senior running back Dontay Taylor leads the rushing attack for the Phoenix with 53 yards rushing.

Game, set, match: Elon University men’s tennis coach retires after 20 years, leaves behind lasting legacy

Elon University Men’s Tennis Coach Michael Leonard will retire after 20 years of coaching at Elon following the 2024 season. Leonard is the winningest coach in Elon men's tennis history with a record of 295-173 over his 20-year career. He is a seven-time conference Coach of the Year and led Elon to six regular season championships. With a win on April 20 in the semifinals of the 2024 CAA Men’s Tennis Championship, Leonard reached the significant milestone of 300 career wins. Under Leonard's mentorship, the program had 74 all-conference selections, six conference Players of the Year and six conference Rookies of the Year.

OPINION: Elon University alienates itself from the South

You rarely hear a southern accent around the Moseley Student Center or Alamance Building. If a drawl echoes, it’s usually a campus employee. Each time there is an accent, I think of growing up in the South and feel that mix of dread and nostalgia. Time in the South gets you acquainted with those two feelings. The South is both a good memory and a bad one. Once I heard a friend say, “I know about the South, I go to Elon.” As a South Carolinian, that phrase struck me as a little strange. I crunched some numbers.
