The Georgia Southern Eagles were able to take advantage of two early Elon turnovers and lead the Phoenix 24-7 at halftime. Elon took a 7-0 lead after junior quarterback Thomas Wilson threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to senior tight end Taylor Berry.

Phoenix to face No. 1 Georgia Southern

Despite leading in almost every statistical category against The Citadel Sept. 24, it took everything the Elon University men's football team had to kick a 33-yard field goal in overtime and scrape by with an 18-15 win against The Citadel. Defensive struggle puts The Citadel up by 1

A tight defensive battle, highlighted by a long touchdown run, leaves The Citadel with a 7-6 lead over Elon after the first half. The Citadel sophomore running back Darien Robinson ran 67 yards for a score with 1:42 left in the second quarter, escaping a few tacklers and outrunning Phoenix defenders.

Following a 48-10 victory against Concord University Sept. 10, Elon University head football coach Jason Swepson looked apprehensive. Elon's early barrage holds but Wilson hurt

Elon quarterback Thomas Wilson rolls out for a pass in the Phoenix's 42-10 victory over the Concord University Mountain Lions on Saturday night. The Elon Phoenix scored 28 points in the first half and walked away with a 42-10 victory over the Concord University Mountain Lions Saturday night at Rhodes Stadium. One of their players, however, walked away with a limp. Elon quarterback Thomas Wilson went 22 of 27 with 201 yards and three touchdowns through the air before going down with a leg injury with less than a minute left in the second quarter. Stauch defense, balanced offense leads Elon at half

In the first half, Elon controlled the tempo on both sides of the ball, leading a balanced attack of 201 yards through the air and 151 yards on the ground, and leads 28-7 over visiting Concord University. Senior running back Dontay Taylor leads the rushing attack for the Phoenix with 53 yards rushing.

Last night was Super Bowl XLV. In the basement screening of the McEwen School of Communications, a group of nearly two dozen gathered to eat pizza, talk and watch the game on the big screen.
