Leftists say what?

Over the past few weeks the White House has asked other news organizations to disregard programing and statements made by Fox News.

The Channel Channel

As of late I find my television set tuned to the repetitively monotonous channel known as "The TV Guide channel." Despite the extremely annoying programming located above the scrolling channel list, I continue to switch to a channel that merely shows what is on other channels.

The Efforts Award

The Nobel Peace Prize Well apparently anyone can win it, even if his or her so called "accomplishments" are represented only in a phrase and not by action.

I was wrong about Sen. Al Franken

And I'll be the first to admit it. I was never fond of his books, his characters on SNL were amusing, but never gratuitously hilarious, and I thought that the same warmed-over smarmy attitude would be ill fit for the Senate, regardless of whether he won the election fairly or not. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Txx4EpMXX4M] Which he didn't, by the way, if you agree with Bill O'Riley. But Franken has done a fabulous job winning over, starting with his solid line of questioning with Justice Sonia Sotomayor (though it was a bit cheesy), continuing with his excellent filmed debate with his own constituents regarding health care, in which he only revealed his pretentious liberal side a few times, and then subsequently apologized for it while defending his viewpoint and perhaps swaying a few opponents. Amusing headlines...

I'm sorry, but the Politico headline "ACORN: Congress cannot hurt us," amused me to no end. There's an article there somewhere, but I couldn't help but just think of this:

Shake off those cobwebs, it's time for the blog to get back into action again. Now if only I could find that ignition switch...ah, here it is.

Instant Replay in College Football

With just under five minutes to go in the first half, Wake Forest's wide receiver Devon Brown appeared to fumble the ball after a pass from quarterback Riley Skinner, but the fumble was ruled after Brown was down, meaning there would be no turnover. Before the snap, however, the official stopped play and declared, "The previous play is under review." Instant replay is a common thing in the National Football League, but it has only become common in college football in the past year. There have always been things that could be reviewed, such as the placement of a ball.
