Over 1,000 Elon University graduating seniors request commencement tickets

Elon University hires new director of disabilities resources after seven months

The Office of Disabilities Resources welcomes a new face this week: Monica Isbell, formerly the disability services coordinator for Alamance Community College, will now serve at Elon University as the director of disabilities resources. The change comes after longtime director Susan Wise stepped down in September 2022.

Elon University Moseley Student Center closes sections due to flooding

A rusted pipe in the second floor universal bathroom of the Moseley Student Center caused chaos Thursday afternoon when water flooded out of the bathroom. The water flooded the bathroom and upstairs hallway including inside the Center for Leadership office for about fifteen minutes until maintenance could shut the pipe off.

Elon University requires health insurance information before class registration

Elon University professor, Iraqi native wants to return home

 A car bomb exploded in Baghdad, Iraq — targeting a government official. Elon professor of communication design Ahmed Fadaam could see the smoke from his front door. He grabbed his camera and drove through his neighborhood, following the smoke. When he arrived at the scene of the explosion, he remembered seeing dead bodies everywhere. This was 20 years ago, but Fadaam remembers the details clearly.

Elon University’s Hillel raises awareness on antisemitism in local community

 Junior Mandi Lichtenstein stood in front of Elon University’s Hillel discussing ways to increase antisemitism awareness. Lichtenstein, who serves as the vice president of Israel education of Hillel, had the goal of making sure the local community was educated about ways to respond to antisemitism.

Elon University students, faculty disturbed over passing of North Carolina Senate Bill 41

Just two days after a deadly school shooting in Nashville, North Carolina legislators voted on Wednesday to repeal the state’s handgun permit requirement. The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office will also no longer issue or require handgun permits for individuals to purchase a handgun.

Sophomore Isabella De Jong was in her Colonnades neighborhood dorm room with the door closed, doing homework on her bed. When the door swung open, De Jong said she remembers feeling excited because her friends and roommates typically barge in to visit.

Former President Donald Trump indicted March 30

A Manhattan grand jury voted to indict former President Donald Trump March 30. The charges are for paying hush money to adult film star Stormy Daniels in his 2016 campaign, the first time a former president of the U.S. has been indicted.
