Muslim, Hindi and Christian Elon University students and community members broke their fasts Tuesday evening. The interfaith celebration of Muslim iftar was organized by the Truitt Center for Religious Life and the Global Neighborhood in collaboration with the Burlington Masjid, Alamance County’s only mosque. While eating, the religious communities reflected on their faith together.

Small businesses at Elon University are nothing new. With Elon’s entrepreneurship programs and frequent tabling events, student businesses can be found around campus. Two in particular – Uwera Rings and Luvstitch Boutique – have popped up throughout the semester at events like Elon Day and under the Oaks.

This week, Jennifer Ladda and her husband traveled from New Jersey to see their daughter perform in McCrary Theatre. Over the past four years, Ladda and her husband have made several trips to see their daughter, senior Caity Ladda, on stage. But Friday night was the opening night of Caity’s last main stage performance at Elon University.

Whitley Auditorium brimmed with students, sounds and bright pink decorations as Elon sophomore Prahb Saini led Vital Signs in a set for the a capella group’s 10th annual Make-A-Wish concert Feb. 18. Once the musical mashup and intricate choreography came to an end, Saini ran off stage to continue mixing the rest of the show.

Thirteen Elon senior BFA dance majors make up Motion Dance Collaborative, and for the last time, they will share the stage together, closing the curtain on their four years at the university. The production, set to run from March 31 to April 2, is called “Game Over” and consists of nine pieces total, seven of which are choreographed by students.

As Elon University students left campus for spring break this week, some students stayed back due to a full-time work schedule. Many of those students include seniors in Elon’s Teacher Education Program, requiring the education majors to align their schedules with a K-12 school system calendar.
