John Tyson has won the North Carolina Court of Appeals Seat 10 against his opponent Gale Adams with 52.94% of the vote. Tyson has secured the seat for the next 8 years. 

Tyson attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington for his bachelor’s degree and attended Campbell University School of Law for his Juris Doctor.  He also holds two masters degrees: one from the University of Virginia, and the other from Duke University. 

Tyson served as a Judge on the North Carolina Court of Appeals from 2001 to 2009, and was later elected as a Recall Judge from 2009 to 2014. In 2014, he was elected to the North Carolina Court of Appeals and became the vice chair of the Dispute Resolution Committee. 

He is the only North Carolina Judge certified with the State Bar Board- Specialist- Real Property Law- Business, Commercial and Industrial Transactions since 2001, and these accomplishments led him to be inducted into the North Carolina Republican Party Hall of Fame.
