Due to concerns regarding the coronavirus the remainder of the Colonial Athletic Association women's basketball tournament has been canceled. Additionally, all CAA spring sports will be suspended until further notice.
The four-day tournament, which was being hosted at Schar Center in Elon University, played the first round of games before the decision to cancel the tournament was made.
According to a statement from the CAA, additional, details regarding the spring season and the rest of the women's basketball championship will be provided at a later date.
The games that were canceled today were between Northeastern University and Towson University, and Elon University and James Madison University.
The CAA announced on Wednesday night that the tournament would continue with "only essential tournament personnel, band and spirit squads, limited school administrators and student-athlete guests, broadcast personnel and credentialed media members."
