Elon University Director of Communications for Athletics Dan Wyar has confirmed three current Elon softball players were involved in a two-car collision at 12:03 a.m. Sunday April 15..

Freshman Emily Cameron, sophomore Aly Quintana and junior Johanna Spencer were in a car driving on Friendly Street in Greensboro when Quintana’s Acura was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of Friendly Street and Elm Street, according to a report filed by the Greensboro Police Department. In total, five people were in the car while two others were in the second vehicle.

Wyar said Quintana and Spencer were released from Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro after treatment but Cameron remained in intensive care. According to Twitter reports from Elon softball players, Cameron will be released from the hospital today, Saturday April 20.
