The Grammy Awards are known for having some of the best and most memorable performances of musicians’ careers. On Feb. 10, the 55th Grammy Awards will be hosting some of my favorite musicians at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Performances include nominees Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert, the Black Keys, Fun., the Lumineers, Mumford & Sons, Frank Ocean, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Jack White. Elton John is also scheduled to perform with nominee Ed Sheeran for the first time live.

This year, the performance list also includes nominees Bruno Mars, Rihanna and 16-time Grammy winner Sting, joining together for a special performance.  Two-time Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson is set to perform and is nominated for three awards including Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance for “Stronger” and Best Pop Vocal Album for “Stronger,” according to the official Grammy website.

Presenters include my idol, Beyoncé, as well as Hunter Hayes, Jennifer Lopez, Pauley Perrette and seven-time Grammy winner Prince.

Each year, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) present The Grammy Awards.  Winners are chosen by members of the Recording Academy who review all entries that meet the requirements from the eligible year.

An especially loaded award category is the highly acclaimed Record of the Year.  The 2013 contenders include The Black Keys’ “Lonely Boy,” Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger,” Fun.’s, “We Are Young,” Gotye’s “Somebody that I Used to Know,” Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin’ Bout You” and Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”

Song of the Year includes Ed Sheeran, Miguel, Carly Rae Jepsen, Kelly Clarkson and Fun. featuring Janelle Monáe. Album of the Year also includes The Black Keys, Fun., Mumford & Sons, Frank Ocean and Jack White.

This year, six nominees are tied for the most nominations. They include fan favorites Fun., Frank Ocean, Kanye West, Jay-Z, The Black Keys and Mumford & Sons.

Whether you like country, rock, pop, folk, hip-hop, R&B or a little bit of everything, this year’s Grammy Awards will definitely not disappoint.  I’m ready for an evening of great music and pretending I’m a part of the red carpet fashion police.
