Senior defender Claire O’Keeffe of the Elon University women’s soccer team has started every game since arriving in 2009. Add all of those up, it equates to 74 starts, which puts her at the top of the list in terms of starts in program history.

“It’s obviously a great accomplishment but I don’t think any accomplishment is ever done without your teammates,” she said. “Any accomplishment made by a teammate is definitely something that is a whole team effort.”

O’Keeffe started her 74th game in a scoreless tie on the road last weekend against Wofford. She passed 2001 graduate Mackenzie Sisson on the all-time list.

“I wouldn’t have made all of those starts without my teammates making me better,” O’Keeffe said. “It’s looked at as an individual accomplishment but in my eyes, I wouldn’t be where I am today without my teammates and their support and their efforts in always making me better and making me the best player I can be.”
