Not to toot my own horn--although I already did so on the airwaves with Rebecca Iannucci on Wednesday--the style section of The Pendulum has been looking awesome. But what's important to remember is it's the people from the community that make an awesome features story. We are in a place where there are engaged, active students, faculty and staff doing incredible things regularly. Without them, I'd have nothing to write about and no stories to edit. Wouldn't that be sad?

But as I've been changing roles since becoming a section editor, I've definitely been doing less writing. But this week I was able to write two stories, bringing me back to my roots of avoiding hard news and embracing human interest pieces. I had a particularly interesting interview with Elizabeth Greenberg last week.

Elizabeth has built her own business making and selling origami flower arrangements. She's currently trying to partner with cancer patients who are only able to work part-time as they battle illness, providing them employment. She's got an LLC and an awesome website. Oh yeah, she's a only sophomore at Elon.

So what do I do that's so fantastic? Why do I deserve to be a part of this incredible community? I write for The Pendulum. I'm working on developing other skills, check back in a few weeks. Thank goodness I can't feature myself, that would be one boring story.
