Elon police reported around 1:25 a.m. on April 24 they responded to an incident at 1291 Elon Crossing Drive. This address is located in a mobile home development about a mile from campus. No students were involved in the incident.
An email from Jon Dooley, vice president for Student Life, following up on the report said it was a home invasion, involving two to three masked suspects who broke into the home and fired a shot at the homeowner, injuring them. Reportedly, this was a burglary.
No arrests have been made in the case, and as of the time of the initial report, the direction in which the suspects fled is unknown.
