Sophomore left fielder Chloe Hatzopoulos saw four pitches during the Elon University softball team’s first game of its Friday doubleheader against North Carolina A&T University. She hit three of them over the fence for home runs.

Before day three of the 2023 NFL draft began, former defensive back Cole Coleman and kicker Skyler Davis — who graduated from Elon in December 2022 — knew that if their names weren't called by the last pick, it wouldn’t have been the end of the line for their football careers. When the draft ended without an Elon player called, they were both still able to secure an opportunity to try out for an NFL team.

Former Elon University kicker Skyler Davis, who graduated in December 2022, has been given a camp invitation from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After going undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, Davis will have a chance to compete for a spot on the roster at rookie football development programs which are set to start May 15.

Former Elon University defensive back Cole Coleman has been signed by the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL draft this past weekend. Coleman, who graduated from Elon in December 2022, signed a contract with the team hours after the culmination of the 2023 NFL draft with a $7,500 signing bonus according to Joel A. Erickson, Colts insider, on Twitter. He is one of 14 other athletes to sign an undrafted free agent contract with Indianapolis at this time. All undrafted free agent signings are unofficial until the player both signs the deal and passes their physical.

For the second time this season, the Elon University baseball team completed a comeback victory over a top-10 opponent at Latham Park. After redshirt junior second baseman Tanner Holliman committed an error in the top of the fifth inning, it was only right that his late-game heroics would fuel the Phoenix to a 6-5 victory over the No. 9 Campbell University Fighting Camels.

After splitting the doubleheader yesterday, the Phoenix came in hungry and ready to play, defeating the Seahawks 7-5 in comeback fashion. Head coach Kathy Bocock said she knew this was an important weekend for the team.

The team also hosted its annual alumni weekend with team alumni taking the field in their former position for the National Anthem.
