Tragedy struck Ecuador April 16 in the form of a 7.8-magnitude earthquake. Despite tremendous relief efforts and searches within the country, there were more than 650 casualties and 16,000 injuries. Reeling from news of the horrifying humanitarian crisis, countries around the world responded by sending food, clothing and money to the survivors.

Upperclassmen will be moving into the Park Place at Elon University, the new apartments under construction next to Skid’s Restaurant on Haggard Avenue, in August. The complex will be four stories tall, and will feature ground floor retail space, outdoor restaurant dining areas on the sidewalk and 45 apartments.

Douglas '10, a former Elon University varsity basketball player, was working on his research topic in his upperclassmen years when he noticed the lack of health programs for young boys in Alamance County. While there were well-known programs for girls, such as "Girls on the Run," he noticed boys seemed to have limited options.
