Reports of 4,000 people without power on South Church St, University Dr
Around 9:00 a.m. Jan. 18, businesses and residents near South Church Street and University Drive lost power. Duke Energy serves the Piedmont Triad area and the cause of this shortage is unknown, according to Burlington Police Department Lieutenant Alex Shockley. Shockley said that power is expected to be running again by 1 p.m.
