Garyonded Stepney, 46, was found not guilty of first-degree murder in a 2021 shootout at a Green Level trailer park, which left two people dead.
Stepney had pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.
Stepney was acquitted after a five-day trial in Alamance County Superior Court in the death of 18-year-old Alonzo Beltran Lara. Stepney could have faced life in prison without the possibility of parole if he had been convicted. The shooting also left Barney Dale Harris, 39, dead.
Although acquitted, Stepney still faces unrelated drug trafficking and other drug-related charges in Guilford and Forsyth counties.
