A Burlington man who works at The Oak House coffee shop in downtown Elon as an assistant manager was arrested March 5 and charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, according to a Burlington Police Department press release.
Roberto Allen Jimenez, 23, was charged with one count of second-degree exploitation of a minor and was taken to the Alamance County Detention Facility.
The release states that Jimenez was taken into custody for being involved in possessing and disseminating child pornography.
According to case documents, Jimenez knowingly exhibited Snapchat material containing a video of a minor engaged in sexual activity.
As of March 8, he is still in jail and being held without bond, according to the Alamance County Detention Center. Jimenez has a scheduled court hearing March 27.
Phil Smith, owner of The Oak House, said he can’t discuss Jimenez’s employment status until more information is available.
The Alamance County Detention Facility declined Elon News Network’s request to speak to Jimenez.
