Late Night Elon hosted a carnival event Friday night with Milk Club on Young Commons.

The two hour event included games, food, ice cream sundaes and milk shots.

Creative director of Milk Club’s outreach committee Eli Hruska says the club is also for those who don’t like milk.

“It’s more than just milk. Whether you’re lactose intolerant, whether you just don't like milk, don't believe in milk, you should still come by,” Hruska said.

Hurska said the event, which had over 150 attendees, was purposefully planned to have non-milk activities, such as carnival games, to help spread awareness of the club around the Elon community.

Hruska said the club has been there since the start of college for him.

“We were all homesick, it was our first time here. We didn’t know what to do. And then one glass of milk, and boom, it’s like we’re family,” Hruska said.

President of Milk Club Jacob Bradshaw said the club crossed major milestones with other events, such as their soiree, to be involved with this event.

Milk Club has over 100 members according to PhoenixConnect, and Bradshaw said the club has meant a lot to him over his time at Elon.

“I'm enjoying my time in Elon a lot more thanks to being a part of this club and I'm very grateful for the community that we have put together,” Bradshaw said.

What started out as something fun turned into something serious for Bradshaw.

“Milk is what brought all these people together tonight,” said Bradshaw. “You can connect milk to nearly every aspect of your personal life if you think about it.”

Milk Club also made sure the ‘Cownival’ was accessible for those who prefer non-dairy options too. Milk Club also is a space for those who prefer non-dairy options too. The milk shot stand had options of whole milk but also soy chocolate milk. Members also said that walnut milk is provided at every club meeting.

Milk Club will be one of the many organizations present at the fall Organization Fair from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 4 at Young Commons and Haggard Ave.
