The Centers for Disease Control voted today to recommend extra vaccines for immunocompromised individuals. The vote comes just after the Food and Drug Administration authorized booster dosages of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. According to the CDC, doses could be available as early as this weekend.

Included in immunocompromised individuals are organ transplant recipients and other individuals who have similar levels of immune impairment.

According to a spokesperson from Elon University, Elon is examining the new information from the CDC and FDA. The university is exploring how booster shots fit into the efforts to keep the Elon community safe this semester.
