The Elon University campus burst to life on Friday, Aug. 23 when students moved into on-campus residence halls. Some highlights of the day included the second class ever moving into East Neighborhood and renovations being completed in Virginia Hall.
North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson is not joining a proposed settlement submitted by Duke Energy Carolinas, the largest electricity provider in Alamance County. Jackson acknowledged the concessions Duke Energy has made, but he was not satisfied with the proposed rates, according to a press release by the North Carolina Department of Justice.
Just months after leading Elon men’s tennis to its second Coastal Athletic Association title in program history, head coach Maciek Sykut is stepping away from the program. Elon Athletics announced July 29 that Sykut will leave his position effective Aug. 31 to accept a leadership role outside of collegiate athletics.
