The Elon University campus burst to life on Friday, Aug. 23 when students moved into on-campus residence halls. Some highlights of the day included the second class ever moving into East Neighborhood and renovations being completed in Virginia Hall.
Fact-checker Bill Adair once lied on C-Span to a “Brian” from Michigan about whether Republicans lied more than Democrats. To appear unbiased, Adair said fact-checkers did not “keep score.” Thirteen years later, Adair found Brian’s daughter and apologized. Adair, the founder of PolitiFact, visited Elon University’s Whitley Auditorium March 16 for the Liberal Arts Forum, a student-run organization that arranges for a variety of academic speakers to address the Elon community.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Alamance County that will be in effect until 2 p.m. March 16. his watch comes as part of a big storm movement coming into Alamance County on March 16. In another email sent to students by Dooley at 10:36 a.m., he announced that in-person meetings on Elon’s campus for classes March 16 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. are canceled.
