Rock and country music filled the air as satisfied students flocked toward their favorite food trucks during Wednesday afternoon's Food Truck Frenzy in the Koury Parking Lot. Sponsored by the Elon University Student Union Board and Elon Dining Services, about 3,000 tickets were sold.

Serving as an alternative to students to get rushing lunch between classes, nine food trucks served a variety of items from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Some of the more popular items featured pitas, Chinese dumplings, bacon, Mexican food and snow cones. Pulkit Vigg, Elon Dining resident district manager, said Food Truck Frenzy. Because of last semester's food truck success, Vigg said his office was willing to help SUB put on the event in the spring.

“Every year we do this ... it is a really bid deal for SUB,” Vigg said.

Food Truck Frenzy is just one of the many events SUB has planned for the remainder of the year to engage with the student body. This Friday, SUB will sponsor the spring concert with Misterwives as the main attraction.

SUB Vice President and sophomore Dan Ford said he was pleased with the turn out of the Food Truck Frenzy and hopes it will translate to the concert this weekend.

“There will be free Pelican's [SnoBalls] and a lot of entertainment, so I hope everyone will try and come out to Misterwives,” Ford said.

Editor's Note: An earlier version of this story misrepresented the amount of money raised from Food Truck Frenzy. The original article said the event boasted $3,000 in profits. The 3,000 amount should have corresponded to the number of tickets sold rather than the total amount of dollars raised. The story has been updated to reflect this correction. The Pendulum regrets the oversight.
