Handbell Musicians of America Area 3 will be holding its annual discoveRING YOUTH Festival on November 20-21, 2015 at Elon Community Church - 271 N Williamson Ave. in Elon. The weekend will commence with the Festival Concert on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 3:30 PM in the Community Learning Center located off the parking lot.

The concert, a multi-sensory program, will include both sacred and secular handbell compositions rung by over 35 youth handbell ringers en masse. The concert is free to the general public.

The Guest Conductor for the concert will be Kenn Owens of Germantown, MD. Kenn has been a bell enthusiast for nearly 30 years, having rung and directed with both church and community groups in the Washington DC area. He currently is the handbell director at Redland Baptist Church in Derwood, MD where he has directed both the adult and youth handbell choirs for 10 years. In addition, he plays trumpet, guitar, and sings in various groups at church and in the community. In the non-music world, he enjoys playing basketball and coaching both baseball and basketball.
