For the average citizen, enacting change against large conglomerates like Apple would take months of long hours and campaigning. For Taylor Swift, it only took a Tumblr post.

The power-wielding superstar posted yesterday about her disappointment towards Apple and its new music-sharing site, Apple Music, via Tumblr. Swift was particularly upset about the company’s decision not to pay royalties to musicians during listeners’ three-month trial period. In her post, she wrote that she would not allow her newest album on the streaming service, as a way to take a stand for struggling artists.

“This is about the young songwriter who just got his or her first cut and thought that the royalties from that would get them out of debt,” Swift said.

Shortly after Swift called Apple into action, pleading with them to pay for the royalties they surely can afford, the company gave in. Apple execs tweeted at Swift and thanked her for her insight, and just like that the royalties will be paid.

And while Apple claims that they were already in discussions about changing this policy, it seems like the company really did not want to take on the young pop sensation. Not wanting yet another Taylor Swift media frenzy like her fight against Spotify in 2014, Apple smartly took on her demands within hours.

So basically, seasoned tech geniuses and entrepreneurs should beware; a 25-year-old pop star and her computer might just come after your company, and win.
