Drop everything, because the “dausage” or “donut sausage” is here to blow your mind.
Following in the footsteps of the creators of the cronut and the duffin, a man from Wales was inspired to invent his own donut-related creation.
And thus, the dausage was born. It’s essentially a jam-filled sausage, but it’s available in several flavors — including pork and beef with custard, pork with leek and blackcurrant jam, and venison with strawberry custard. Not to worry vegetarians, there’s a vegetarian dausage filled with primula for you to enjoy as well.
The dausage inventor has held a few taste tests so far and has found that his creation is catching on.
“Most people who have tried it have loved it. There is always a bit of wariness to begin with,” he said in an interview with Buzzfeed News. “I am just finalizing the details of some food festivals we will be attending over the summer.”
He plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for a machine that can mass-produce dausages.
