The Alamance County Sheriff's Office says first-year Elon student Tyler Heath Gammon, 17, of Flower Mound, Texas, was released from jail Tues. Nov. 25 after being arrested Saturday Nov. 22 on charges of trafficking and possession of LSD, as well as intent to deliver and sell.
The sheriff's office says the total bond was $75,000.
According to the sheriff's office, Gammon was arrested at the Sonic restaurant in Burlington.
The sheriff's office says Gammon's charges included one count of trafficking of a Schedule I controlled substance, three counts of selling and delivery of a Schedule I controlled substance and 3 counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule I controlled substance.
According to the North Carolina Controlled Substances Act, a Schedule I controlled substance is a substance that has "a high potential for abuse, no currently accepted medical use in the United States, or a lack of accepted safety for use in treatment under medical supervision."
According to the sheriff's office, Gammon was in possession of between 900-1,000 doses of the drug.
The Alamance County Sheriff's Office said on Nov. 24 that Gammon was arrested on $250,000 bond.
The sheriff's office says this is a multi-agency investigation that is still ongoing.
