The day things happening in Div. III college basketball become a big deal is the day some weird, crazy things start happening. Well, the day has arrived.

Jack Taylor is a junior guard on the Grinnell College basketball team checking in a 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds. The Grinnell basketball team competes in the Midwest Conference against teams like Monmouth College and Illinois College and is located in Grinnell, Iowa. Just 1,655 students are enrolled at the school.

Grinnell averaged 112.3 points per game last year and Taylor averaged 36.3 points per game having only played 12 of the team's 23 games. He was the leading scorer on the team last year with 436 points on the season.

So, how does one lead his team in points scored having only played 52 percent of his team's games? A 138 point outing doesn't hurt.

In Grinnell's third game of the 2012-2013 season, Taylor scored 138 points in the team's 179-104 victory against Faith Baptist Bible College. It's the record for most points in a college basketball game.

Turns out, this wasn't a one-time thing for Taylor.

This season, Grinnell has played two games. They've won the two games by scores of 144-99 and 173-123, respectively. Of Grinnell's 317 points this season, Taylor has 180 of them, which is good for 57 percent of Grinnell's points.

In the team's first game against Finlandia University, Taylor scored 71 points on 23 of 52 shooting. He went 11 of 29 from behind the three-point line. Apparently, scoring 71 points and shooting 44 percent from the field is not enough for the junior.

In game No. 2, Taylor only got better. Taylor shot 50 percent on 35 of 70 shooting, including going 24 of 48 from behind the three-point line. All in all, Taylor scored 109 points against Crossroads College in the 173-123 victory. That mark is good for third all-time in points scored in a single game.

How does this happen? Grinnell unleashes the "Bomb Squad." Seriously. It means to steal the ball on a full-court press defense or foul to get the ball back. The offense head coach David Arseneault runs: Shoot it as fast as possible and play no defense. It's certainly a style that is like non anyone has ever seen.

Next up, Grinnell takes on Wartburg College at home. I guess the world is on Jack Taylor watch.
