It’s difficult to ignore the construction going on around campus. I walk past the future site of the Numen Lumen Multi-Faith Center twice a week on my way to class. I drive past the Station at Mill Point whenever I leave my apartment. And where my freshman dorm once stood, there is now the steel bones of what will become the Global Residential Neighborhood.

My friends and I have talked several times about the ways that things will be different when we return in the fall. Everyone has a difference opinion on which buildings should or shouldn’t have been knocked down, and which new buildings we are most excited for.

For this week’s upcoming article, I got to interview two faculty members about the construction going on around campus, and what new facilities will mean for Elon. I thought it was really cool to get a faculty perspective on all the changes that I see taking place around here. The faculty here definitely have a vision for the new buildings on campus and how they will allow the school to better meet the needs of the students in terms of space for events, housing and the promotion of diversity.
