Between riding a mechanical bull for the first time and napping in the sun, my spring break was the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. Five of my friends and I hopped in the car to travel to Holden beach, stopping along at what appeared to be an old confederate junkyard, for a few days. For St. Patty’s weekend, we spent two days exploring the Broadway boardwalk in Myrtle beach. We then beach hopped to Oak Island for the remainder of the break. Other events included learning to line dance at a country bar, exploring the adorable shops in the town of Wilmington, being harassed by the waiters at Dirty Dicks restaurant, enjoying a great backyard barbeque with family friends and watching the much anticipated Hunger Games.

Staff photographer Molly Carey spent her spring break in Myrtle Beach with several of her Elon friends. She managed to wake up early almost every morning to catch the sunrise over the ocean.

Spring Break this year was much needed after a stressful and busy last few semesters. My roommates and I went down to Myrtle Beach. We spent every afternoon on the beach getting our tan on and did fun things in the morning and at night. My favorite thing we did was going to Brookgreen Gardens. The area is huge and full of every flower and plant imaginable. The scenery was gorgeous; I would love to do a photo shoot there someday!
