Emergency services are disrupted on parts of Elon's campus, according to an email sent to faculty and staff from Bob Shea, associate vice president for business, finance and technology.

The disruption was caused by a contractor who cut an analog telephone line while working on Sankey Hall, a new building for the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business.

Emergency building services including fire alarms, elevator call buttons and blue safety lights are disabled in the following buildings:

·  Danieley C & F
·  Global A, B, C and E
·  Colonnades A, B, C, D and E
·  Loy Center R, Q, S and L
·  Sankey
·  Moseley
·  KOBC
·  Inman

Shea says physical plant; planning, design and custom management; and IT are all working to resolve the problem.

In the mean time, Shea says temporary safety measures are in place including fire watches by "professional and student staff."

Full restoration is expected sometime Thursday.
