Women’s tennis improves to 9-3

Ten games into the Southern Conference schedule, the Elon University volleyball team finds itself in a familiar place. With a losing mark against conference foes, the team has to beat Western Carolina University and Appalachian State University this weekend to get back to even in the SoCon.
"Every time we lose, I'm always looking forward to that next match when I can get revenge," senior outside hitter and middle back Caroline Lemke said.
Last year, the Elon Phoenix volleyball team started its Southern Conference schedule 2-0 on its way to winning the SoCon North Division crown.
After dropping its first match of the Butler Tournament to host Butler University, the Elon University volleyball team rallied throughout the weekend to come back and become co-champions of the tournament and looks to use its momentum this weekend, starting with a game against Campbell University.
Despite one loss while hosting the Elon Phoenix Classic Sept. 16-17, the Elon University volleyball team has completed its out of conference schedule and looks to begin its second season: Southern Conference play.
At season's end, the women's soccer team will have a void to fill.
