The Fat Frogg Bar & Grill was transformed into a runway March 31 as Elon University students modeled for the Her Campus 2nd Annual Fashion Show and Date Auction. Admission was $5, and all proceeds from the event went to Elonthon and Duke Children’s Hospital.

Colleges Against Cancer, a group dedicated to fundraising on college campuses for the American Cancer Society, is no exception to the loads of overachieving student organizations on Elon University’s campus. Last year, throughout multiple events, Colleges Against Cancer raised over $70,000. This year, they are hoping to raise even more with a goal of $100,000.

Many children dream of becoming famous musicians, athletes or scientists, but for four Elon University students, that dream is one step closer to becoming real. Three sophomores — James Setzer, Brett Cashmer and Matt Snow — and junior Mike Hagen connected musically upon their first weeks as students. Forming the band that would become The Tripps, the men were signed by Elon’s Limelight Music Group.

She’d heard about the production from friends who had auditioned for it, though she knew little about the woman whose name was in the title. But when the curtains opened, Thomas was mesmerized.
